Eatin' IN MY Garden

Howdy y'al!

This is Ms. "Sharyn" your neighborhood storyteller, thanks for stopping by! I was born in Peterborough, England to late Jamaican parents. My mom was reared in the parish of White Sand, St Ann’s and my dad in the popular tourist spot Montego Bay, St. James. Being the eldest, somehow my three siblings and I ended up in England!

But from a young age my mom noticed that I loved entertaining and never feared faces. I recall being put "on the spot" to sing a song called , “How About Your Heart” at my aunt’s family gathering to introduce Uncle George, her then fiancée and current husband.  And throughout the years, entertaining has continued.

I love stories. especially, with audiences that are anticipatory of what’s ahead. I also believe stories are reflective of each unique life's exhibits.

A friend reminded me that she and her late sister recalled and looked forward to my funny jokes or tidbits of information after every Sunday service in the church parking lot. What a memory! And now it continues with my business to the elderly.

Storytelling strokes broad images on clear canvases of an audience's mind. Whether fiction or non-fiction, the audience formulates a story based on the presentation  at hand. This is where I try to interject mid-stream.  Stories spark and surface memories that invite introspection, change,  motivates inspiration and dreams. On these pillars, I'm inspired to create and entertain freely.

Like you, so many of our stories is a continued "storybook" that is filled with endless curves, mountains, pitfalls, hills, valleys and life's surprises!  Like you, we're all "on stage."  When do we step off?  There are no backdoors, back stages or "behind-the-scenes.” In life, I'm an "open book,"  We're all open books   read by others. I'm daily open to every story opportunity and ideas that cram my this brain of mine.

During a holiday family dinner with relatives my brother blurted: "Cho Sharon, you always got a story to tell!" And you know what? He's absolutely correct. Hence this creation. Presently, as a proud grandmother of three and another "on the way" I'll have stories!

Enjoy this legacy, this foot-tapppin', head-bopping' , side-splittin' , hand-clapping musical journey  of, "Eatin' IN MY Garden."

Encounter a neighbor's  irritating neighbors in its catchy tale and what would you do in this scenario?

Oh, and thanks for stopping by, see ‘ya!!
